I find it interesting that out of a human body, God didn't sought man's hands, eyes or feet but the heart.
As a worshiper, I believe that we're all born to worship (could be someone or something). A famous preacher Pastor Louie Giglio quoted “some of the purest forms of worship happens in concerts." People raising hands, crying over a song, it's a familiar look when we have our worship services. I believe that there's passion in everyone's heart waiting to be released but our hearts are misdirected. I think it all starts where it should start, the heart. When the heart desires, it imitates. We become obsessed without knowing and soon we become what we desire. Familiar with "Mukhang pera"? Some people worship money without even knowing it and soon they become exactly it. The heart deceives, it lies and it corrupts. (Jeremiah 17:9) Whatever occupies your heart; could it be watching too much tv, korean drama, computer games, being depressed, money, fame, work, family, etc. Whatever it is that takes God's place in your heart becomes your god. Question now is how is it possible for a corrupt, deadly and sinful heart be used in worshipping a good, loving, merciful Father? Well hey, you know this. It's SURRENDER. I remember the woman at the well (John 4) she's exactly like us, filling her heart with things that doesn't really satisfy. From one relationship to another but still she's still as empty and thirsty as how she was. Then here comes an amazing encounter. She met Jesus, the Living Water. The One she was looking for all her life was in front of her offering her a deal! "but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.." John 4:14. And Jesus is offering us the same drink. We may have filled our hearts with worthless things that doesn't even satisfy, but if we surrender and give God our hearts, then we will be truly satisfied. Above everything, make God sit at the throne of your heart and only then could we have the heart of worship. Sis. Jaireh Cruzem Worship Department Head, COG Metro Manila Region
